“Firstly congratulations to Suncoast Clayworkers for a wonderful presentation at this ceramic awards exhibition.
As always these events are the hard work of a great team. The Suncoast Clayworkers can be very proud of their efforts led by the ever energetic task master Jackie Gasson who always manages to draw together a great team.
My overall impression was the standard of entries was very high. There is a strong emphasis on environmental issues in many of the sculptural works. The functional and non-functional works show great attention to finish and presentation.
Varied forms and surfaces are explored with great skill and knowledge.
The introduction of the 300 gram category posed great difficulty for me as judge. There were so many wonderful small works which all deserved mention.
Again congratulations to all who exhibited, may they continue the great ceramic standard shown here at “IGNITION”.
